little while ago It is important for the human species to spread out into space for the survival of the species. Life on Earth is at the ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as sudden global warming, nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus or other dangers we have not yet thought of.
so yes, humans are effectively parasites - of entire planets, that is.
and of course google, encouraged by the success of google earth and anticipating the human transfer to a new host planet, has already made available a google
map of mars. just in case you ever doubted google's role
in cultural design.

yeah, i've been a-slacking, as lately life has been more interesting than the internet - when i'm not at work, that is.

genius grant? (yeah right)
anyhoo... from left to right (excluding me) we have:
- superstar organizer for a major non-profit helping impoverished children in-need around the world
- dedicated environmental science teacher / activist type lady
- the budding green architect and ex-environmental fundraiser
- the genius multi-lingual ecologist
which basically leaves me as the general bullshit-handler and fire-putter-outter, which is okay with me. along with being the boss, of course.

i survived san francisco and the wedding weekend, thanks to the hospitality of
my wife and her boyfriend. i also managed to avoid being swallowed by their pull-out bed thanks to
dan, who had warned me about the huge divot in the middle of the mattress. pictures coming soon (of the wedding, not the mattress).
