as stephen hawking put it a little while agoIt is important for the human species to spread out into space for the survival of the species. Life on Earth is at the ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as sudden global warming, nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus or other dangers we have not yet thought of.so yes, humans are effectively parasites - of entire planets, that is.
and of course google, encouraged by the success of google earth and anticipating the human transfer to a new host planet, has already made available a google map of mars. just in case you ever doubted google's role in cultural design.
